VHSLSportsCombine, the official
website for Virginia high school sports, has established the
VHSLSportsCombine Sports Information Director (SID) program to train and deploy
one student intern per High School.
VHSLSportsCombine SIDs are central
to the online sports community at their school!
The VHSLSportsCombine SIDs
will help their school use the site to create multimedia
presentations and help teams take advantage of the SportsCombine
fundraising and communication capabilities. The Advanced
Intern also qualifies to travel and attend national events
like NIKE tournaments and camps.
VHSLSportsCombine SIDs learn:
Sports reporting
Sports marketing
Content management
Coordination and management skills working with coaches
Fundraising and state of the art communication tools
VHSLSportsCombine SID candidates:
Schools newspaper reporters
Team managers
Team statisticians
Sports marketing students
Candidates must be responsible, dedicated to their school
sports, knowledgeable about the Internet and available to
spend 4-5 hours per week on their schools' SportsCombine web site.
Candidates should write a 2 paragraph letter to
SportsCombine and fax it along with a recommendation
letter from a teacher or sponsor at the school to:
